An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Legal Counsel to join a high-performing in-house legal team within a leading manufacturing and consumer goods business. The business has a turnover of over £850m and is seeking to make only its second hire in the UK. The brand of products manufactured are globally recognised. The business is across over 12 locations globally and you will be joining a legal function consisting of three lawyers.
What you'll do:
* Provide commercially focused legal advice to the business
* Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts
* Advise on contractual risk, compliance, and regulatory considerations
* Collaborate with key stakeholders across the business to deliver pragmatic and solutions-driven legal guidance
* Support the legal team in corporate projects and other strategic initiatives as required
* Proactively identify and mitigate legal risks while fostering a culture of compliance and governance
What you bring:
* Qualification as a solicitor in England & Wales (or equivalent jurisdiction)
* 3+ years’ PQE, ideally gained in-house or through a mix of private practice and in-house roles
* Proven experience working on complex commercial contracts
* Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance legal risk with business priorities
* Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
