As a result of service redesign within the gynaecology service we now have the exciting opportunity to employ a Surgical First Assistant (Gynaecology) at our new surgical hub in St Austell. You will need to be flexible and adaptable with excellent communication and organisational skills and, most importantly, unlimited enthusiasm.
We are looking to supplement our gynaecology theatre team with an experienced surgical first assistant who has anaesthetics, scrub or recovery skills. We would like to hear from you if your are dual/multi-skilled or have gynaecology theatre experience.

The post holder is responsible for the delivery of care and the assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of individual programs of care related to gynaecology operative procedures.
The post holder will be expected to take delegated responsibility in a given shift for a group of patients.
The post holder will provide skilled and competent assistant to the operating surgeon during operative procedures. They will work at all times under the direct supervision of the operating surgeon.
Working with the theatre team to ensure that the correct equipment is available in a timely manner for all gynaecology operating lists. The individual will be responsible for liaising with list bookers, theatre staff and the trust procurement department to ensure continuity of service.
The post holder will work closely with theatre and the surgical admitting areas to support patient flow and efficient functioning of the theatre list.
