Are you passionate about animals and dedicated to their wellbeing? We are looking for a skilled and compassionate individual to join our veterinary clinic as a Veterinary Care Assistant at our Thornbury branch.
Place of Work
Your primary place of work would be our Thornbury surgery with necessary travel to our other branches at Armley, Birkenshaw, Horsforth, Meanwood and Morley as and when required and to cover holidays and sickness (at short notice) so a full clean driving licence is essential.
Position Overview
As a Veterinary Care Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Reception team and Clinical team and ensuring the smooth operation of our practice. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
* Assisting Veterinary Surgeons and RVNs with patients and adhering to the patients' needs.
* Manual handling and caring for animals with empathy and compassion.
* Focusing on maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout the practice.
* Cleaning and sterilizing instruments.
* Running laboratory tests and packaging samples.
* Help to maintain stock levels and ensure effective stock control and rotation, including ordering and monitoring of stock requirements and assisting with the bi-annual stock take.
* Providing exceptional customer service to clients at the reception desk.
* Answering and making phone calls, including post-operative calls, responding to emails, scheduling appointments, and managing client queries.
* Cash handling and maintaining accurate client records.
* Previous experience in a similar role with reception duties is essential.
* Strong customer service and communication skills are essential.
* Ability to multitask efficiently.
* Good administration and IT skills for managing reception duties and in-house IT queries.
* Experience in cash handling/balancing.
* Confidence in animal handling and maintaining client records.
About the Rota and Salary
This is a full-time role working up to 40 hours per week between the hours of 7:30am-6:30pm (flexibility to work between these hours is essential). There will also be 1 in 4 Saturday mornings from 8:00am-12:30pm.
The salary for this role will be up to £23,200 DOE per annum.
