Solution Design & Routing Planner (Maternity Cover)

Overall Job Purpose:
* The purpose of the role is to design routing solutions in line with the development needs of the business.
* The role will focus on the effective use of Planning Software systems to ensure all new business opportunities are planned effectively while remaining efficient across the MDL Network in the UK and Ireland.
* The role will also focus on the optimisation of current business to ensure the best routing plans are being produced in line with our business strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
* Effectively use the route planning and optimisation system.
* Liaise with the Central Operations team to develop innovative planning solutions in line with current business leads.
* Communicate planned new locker activity or optimal changes to current business with relevant business teams or individuals in a timely manner.
* Interpret and produce KPI reports and analysis to support change in the business.
Processes:
* Utilise planning software to promote best practices for routing and solutions design.
* Provide planning and routing support to the Operations team and managers.
* Provide route options as directed by the line manager.
* Support new locker onboarding implementations.
* Generate reports from the system to ensure effective decisions can be made by the senior leadership team.
Internal Customer:
* Liaise with MDL branch network to support the success of our e-commerce contract and improve customer service levels.
* Be a point of contact for branches wishing to discuss alternative routing opportunities.
Finance:
* Create potential route plans and 'what if' scenario plans for routes.
* Ensure that route planning is aligned with costs agreed and where possible find lower cost alternatives.
Key Skills & Competencies:
* Experience of Route Planning Software (Desirable)
* Proficient in MS Package (Essential)
* Ability to work as part of a team and individually.
* Innovative thinker.
* Ability to analyse information and data to create coherent factual reports.
