gap technical are proud to be representing this manufacturing business in their search for a Senior Production Supervisor to work at their facility based near Wigan
Performance Objectives
Oversee and coordinate the activities of production operatives, team leaders, and agency staff.
Conduct daily shift handovers and ensure smooth communication across shifts.
Monitor and manage attendance, timekeeping, and performance.
Complete RTW, 1:1 and performance related meetings.
Ensure the production plan is executed effectively and targets are met.
Monitor workflow and provide solutions to address production challenges.
Focus on minimizing waste and improving efficiency.
Monitor daily production output to ensure targets are achieved in line with customer and business expectations.
Track production metrics, including yield, efficiency, and downtime, to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Ensure resources are allocated effectively to maximize output while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Conduct regular reviews of output data and provide feedback to the team to improve performance.
Ensure all paperwork and electronic systems are completed in real time.
Ensure team compliance with food safety, health & safety regulations, and internal policies.
Maintain high hygiene standards and oversee proper storage of raw materials, allergens, and chemicals.
Support audits and ensure all documentation meets BRC and company standards.
Conduct monthly workplace inspections
Facilitate training for new and existing staff on operational, food safety, and health & safety procedures.
Identify and address training needs to enhance team competency.
Complete toolbox talks as and when required
Update training matrix and training folders as an and required.
Liaise with internal departments to address and resolve production-related issues.
Maintain accurate records of production performance, incidents, and non-conformance.Person Specification
Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a supervisory role within a production environment, preferably in food manufacturing.
IOSH certificate or similar (desirable).
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Flexibility to work overtime as needed by the business.
