We are currently looking for a Managing Director - Construction Accessories (MDCA) who will be responsible for providing leadership, support, empowerment and development of the Construction Accessories leadership team and their teams across the entire CA business, ensuring that the business achieves its financial & broader business objectives as well as their own personal potential. The MDCA has full accountability for the successful delivery of the Construction Accessories P&L with responsibility for the development and implementation of the business vision, mission and strategy, their teams are delivering against their financial targets including all operational aspects of the business but not limited to effective sales, cost and stock management targets, logistics, customer services, human resources, administration whilst providing effective branch forecasts and business plans. What does the role involve? As Managing Director, you will be responsible and accountable for the Business Units budget and profit contribution. The MDCA is accountable for delivering margin and overall company target ROS% and ensures the business decisions are financially sound. You will also provide l eadership to the Construction Accessories leadership team that communicates a clear direction aligned with OpCo strategy and cultivates a culture of success, while also actively promoting and inspiring a culture of health and safety. The successful candidate will also recruit, develop, retain, appropriately reward and recognise the achievements of talented colleagues who drive the business forward. You will ensure that the PDR process is embedded across the CA business and that talent and Succession reviews are carried out in accordance with Company guidelines. You will also maintain a strategic overview of business development opportunities through strong market intelligence, ensure that CA Leadership teams are proactive and sales focused, and take a personal involvement in key account management. The MDCA must role model SIG behaviours and engender a culture which promotes high standards of business ethics and compliance with corporate requirements. Strong analytical ability with a detailed and up to date understanding of performance indicators. The ability to identify commercial opportunities. A strong understanding of commercial dynamics including sales, marketing, customer, pricing, sourcing, and category management. The ability to articulate company vision and coordinate priorities. The ability to think strategically for effective business growth. Openness to generate and receive new ideas and able to sell these to teams and individuals Proven influencing ability with the strength to challenge existing ways of thinking A Collaborative approach, ability to work with colleagues and builds strong relationships. The Ability to identify talent, benchmark and support pipeline succession. Organization with good planning skills, structured problem-solving approach and decision-making ability.
