Job title: Pupil's Assistant Location: Southampton Salary: £12.83 per hour Start Date: Immediate or after Easter 2025 Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent GSL Education are seeking a motivated and compassionate Pupil’s Assistant to support students in a school setting in Southampton. This role is perfect for someone passionate about helping children overcome challenges and reach their full potential. Responsibilities of Pupil’s Support: Provide one-on-one and small group support to students who require additional assistance. Assist with academic activities, ensuring students remain engaged and on track with their learning. Support students with special educational needs (SEN), emotional and behavioural difficulties (SEMH), or those needing extra guidance. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages confidence and independence. Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to implement personalised support strategies. Help manage classroom behaviour and provide emotional regulation support when needed. Assist students with daily routines, transitions, and classroom activities. Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff. The successful candidate will: Experience working with children or young people in a school, care, or support setting. A passion for supporting students with additional learning needs, including SEN and SEMH. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships. Patience, resilience, and the ability to adapt to different learning needs. Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant qualification) are desirable but not essential. Have an updated CV ( covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps ) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one). Why Choose GSL Education?
