Working as part of the Client Services & Strategy function, the digital media strategist develops and presents digital marketing strategies, plans and recommendations for selected clients and new business prospect/pitch contacts.
You will support the development and implementation of digital media plans and forecasting across paid channels. This role contributes to data-led planning, budget management, and cross-channel collaboration, under the guidance of the Strategy & Planning Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Analysis and Insight:
* Be aware of the tools available to the agency and able to recommend to clients, and internal teams the right tools for the right task, assisting where appropriate in pulling analysis for commercial use.
* Able to review channel performance data to inform ongoing budgeting and planning decisions, working in collaboration with client and channel teams to evolve client roadmaps and make appropriate optimisation recommendations.
* Collaborate with teams to incorporate insights from third parties (i.e. YouGov, GWI and Meltwater) as well as any internal data sources (i.e. Dashboards / MMM) to drive trust in recommendations and unlock client approval / budgets.
Media Strategy and Planning:
* Able to create top-level channel recommendations, against a client brief, that enables them to meet their identified KPI and goals.
* Working with channel leads in the development of media plans and forecasts across a multitude of channels to set budgets.
* Assist in ensuring media plans are "audience-first" - utilising a data-led approach.
* Be familiar with creating full-funnel performance strategies and how to clearly present them in a digestible way for clients (presentation) and internal teams (briefing).
Strategic Management:
* Own and provide input working alongside the strategy director in client quarterly business reviews and strategy updates as required against agreed client scope of works.
* Work alongside Paid Media, Organic and Data specialists to ensure roadmaps are being implemented and adapted in line with the ever-changing landscape.
Platform and Partner Development:
* Play a key role in identifying and developing relationships with key media platforms, creative partners, and insight providers - ensuring key information is shared to the relevant client teams.
* Be proactive in investigating and identifying new media partners, technologies and tools that can help solve key client challenges.
From time to time, you may be required to carry out additional duties to meet the needs of the business, for example carrying out mandatory training or tasks assigned by your Manager.
Skills or Competences:
* 3+ years of experience in digital media planning.
* Strong understanding of full-funnel performance strategies and how performance marketing plays into the short, and long-term brand growth.
* Hands-on experience in using tools such as GA, Meta ads, DSP platforms and YouGov.
* Proven ability in using data to create actionable insights for clients both strategically, and within the day to day.
* Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills.
* Min intermediate Excel skills, including experience with pivot tables and formulae.
* The flexibility to work over several projects and balance your workload.
