Job summary
Are you a dedicated Pharmacy Technician with a passion for education and training? Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly motivated individual to lead and coordinate the education and training of our Pharmacy Technicians and Support Staff at Yeovil District Hospital.
Main duties, tasks & skills required
* Lead the development and implementation of education and training strategies for pharmacy technicians and support staff in line with national standards.
* Organise, develop, and oversee formal training programs including apprenticeship schemes and qualifications in areas such as Medicines Optimisation and Final Accuracy Checking.
* Collaborate with senior pharmacy staff and external healthcare providers to enhance training programs and ensure they meet departmental needs.
* Provide mentorship and supervision to trainees, ensuring they meet their educational targets.
* Act as the line manager for apprentice pharmacy technicians and pharmacy assistants.

Qualifications
Essential
* Full current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
* TAQA, A1 or equivalent Assessor qualification, CAVA
* Accuracy checking qualification or willing to work towards.
Desirable
* Medicines Optimisation qualification to include Medicines reconciliation.
* Propharmace educational supervisor course
Experience
Essential
* Demonstrated experience of delivering high quality training to multiple staff groups such as Pharmacy technicians and Support staff.
