Our Water company client is seeking a WINEP Project Manager to join their Water Resource team in a hybrid working arrangement based out of Havant.

Role Overview
The role is permanent, reporting to a Water Resource Manager and a Catchment & Environment Manager. The position will have 1 direct report, an Investigation Support Officer. The candidate will work with water resource staff, procurement, and act as an interface between consultancy support. External contacts will include other water companies, regulatory authorities, local groups, and the Water Resource South East (WRSE) partners. This role is essential for the successful delivery of the company's Water Resource WINEP investigation Programme.
Responsibilities
1. Manage the appointed contractor(s) to deliver the Water Resource WINEP programme ensuring safe and timely delivery by the agreed regulatory output dates and in accordance with the agreed budgets and quality levels required by environmental Regulators. This includes:
2. Control and reporting of costs and schedule
3. Technical coordination
4. Facilitate liaison with key internal staff and external bodies
5. Identification, reporting, and management of key risks
6. Control and management of contract changes
7. Undertake the role of Service Manager under NEC4 Professional Services Contract (PSC)
8. Lead liaison with Southern Water regarding aspects of the AMP8 WINEP programme they are leading, including attendance at project Steering Group meetings
9. Support the Water Resource WRMP24 and WRMP29 programmes, including programme development and management
10. Assist with WRMP tasks, including options appraisal
11. Engage technically with environmental Regulators (primarily Environment Agency and Natural England) to ensure successful completion of the WINEP programme
12. Manage 8 projects simultaneously
13. Liaise with contractors' teams in delivering and processing projects
14. Request data and information from stakeholders and third parties
15. Collate and store information
16. Manage records
Skills/Experience/Qualifications
1. Project Management Experience, particularly for environmental study type work
2. Sound scientific and technical skills in water quality and/or ecological impact appraisal
3. Proven ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
4. Excellent and demonstrable administration and organisation skills
5. Sound computer literacy skills, particularly Microsoft Office 365 and associated tools
6. Basic geological and hydrogeological understanding
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
8. A degree (or equivalent) in environmental science/water resources or a related discipline, Geography, or ecology
9. More than 5 years' experience in an environmental assessment or regulatory role, ideally in a project/technical leadership or project management role
