We have a very exciting opportunity for a Demand planner working for a dynamic company in Doncaster.
The Demand and Stock Profiling Planner role is a crucial position in ensuring optimal and affordable stocking levels are methodically profiled and managed through an efficient 2-tier distribution network channel, underpinned via robust demand forecasting which is governed through a core forward-looking business planning process.
The role will work cross-functionally and collaboratively to manage and validate demand forecasts and inventory stock profiling within the global 2-Tier distribution network, such that products can be produced and delivered more efficiently to customer requirements
Demand Forecasting:
• Manage and validate demand forecasts at an item level
• Enrich forecasts through inclusion of market intelligence facilitated with Sales / Commercial (eg. promotion, campaigns, seasonality, etc.)
• Manage forecasting for new products where there is an “initiative” (ie. Specification change)
• Manage forecasting for new products where there is “innovation” (ie. Brand new product)
• Identify and manage demand exceptions or abnormalities working cross functionally with Sales / Commercial
• Work in conjunction with Sales / Commercial to progressively improve forecasting processes, accuracy and reduce forecast volatility
• Identify and resolve specific SKU escalations in collaboration with Sales / Commercial and Procurement
Demand Aggregation and Consensus:
• Support obtaining consensus for demand by site / market as part of the monthly business planning cycle
• Undertake appropriate aggregation of demand volume / revenue, eg. by producing site / market / demographic
• Support collation of required demand information for presentation to leadership, as part of the business planning cycle
Process Maturity / KPI's
• Document and update process standard work and drive process maturity in demand and business planning processes
• Update results at appropriate intervals for demand planning / stock profiling KPI’s and identify corrective actions as required
Stocking Policy, Classification, Profiling and Distribution Networks
• Review service level settings quarterly and assess impact on stock projections, providing recommendations as necessary
• Evaluate, create and propose amendments as required to stocking policy and / or replenishment methods, based on criteria such as revenue demographics, etc.
• Support a bi-annual review and analysis of ABC/XYZ and EoQ criteria and manage outcomes / amendments as required
• Collaborate with the Procurement function to monitor and conduct regular review and analysis of supplier MoQ data
• Manage the analysis for profiling stock (SKU’s) through methodical categorisation and classification, based on specific attributes and characteristics, ensuring systems are synchronised to support future replenishment methods
• Orchestrate the co-ordination of a 2-Tier distribution network channel and identify / initiate internal stock transfer Sales Orders as appropriate

Internal : Operations (Production, Production Planning, Transport, Stock Control), Sales and Commercial, Finance, Procurement
External : S&OE, S&OP, IBP and Stock Management consultants (as needed)

Technical Skills / Experience
• Proficient at operating, structuring, manipulating and synthesizing large amounts of data
• Ability to work with databases and data software, eg. Slim4, Microsoft Excel, Power BI, etc.
• Strong analytical skills with an ability to report and provide recommendations
• Proven experience of working in a complex 2-Tier distribution network, in a dynamic, multi-site environment
• A sound understanding of end-to-end Supply Chain Management (Planning, Materials Management, Logistics & Distribution)
