We are currently looking for a Technical Assistant- Environmental Health to join our public health team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a wide range of work within Food Safety, Health & Safety, Infectious Disease Control.
The successful candidate will have a qualification in either food technology, food microbiology or environmental health. Ideally candidates will hold the EHRB Higher Certificate in Food Premises Inspection or equivalent; if the successful applicant does not have the relevant certificate, training and mentoring will be made available to gain competency in relevant food law duties. The successful candidate will also undertake a range of duties including sampling and investigating cases of infectious disease and general complaints under the instruction of the Principal Environmental Health Officer.
The post is for a fixed term of 12 months however we may extend subject to attracting the necessary funding.
The post is full time (37 hours) but would welcome applications from those seeking part time work.
The council have a generous Flexi Working Policy which allows up to 2 days flexi leave per month (subject to policy conditions being met).
