We are looking for an efficient and organised Outpatients Operational Lead to join our Outpatient Management Team.
You will be part of the Division's operational management team, reporting to the Outpatient Access and Booking Manager, and ultimately supporting the Directorate Manager of Outpatients and Clinical Support with the goal of providing an efficient service for outpatients scheduling, and helping to create and maintain a high-performing team who work in-line with Trust values.
You will be primarily based at Sunderland Royal Hospital and be responsible for day-to-day operational management of the Outpatients Scheduling Team. You will also support the Receptionist Manager with provision of an effective reception service. This Team will operate from various locations therefore there may be some requirement to travel to other sites on an infrequent basis.

Main duties of the job
You must have developed administration skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills with customer service experience and be computer literate with a working knowledge of MS Office.
Experience of managing teams or services, prioritising patients using a waiting list, and reporting waiting list and RTT information is essential.
You will have attention to detail and the ability to prioritise incoming work to meet deadlines. With a strong emphasis on customer service, you will have the ability to establish positive working relationships and liaise with people at all levels.
You will play an essential role within the Team, helping to maintain standards and improve the Service for the benefit of patients and the clinical teams. You will be willing to adapt to change and learn new skills, having a good knowledge of NHS office procedures, together with organisational skills, in order to deliver high-quality administrative services and customer care. You will play a key role in supporting the Scheduling Managers with attendance management, ensuring a consistent approach in-line with Trust policy. You will also allocate work on a daily basis, ensuring that staff resource and expertise is allocated to benefit the overall performance of the Scheduling service.

Qualifications
* Staff management experience within an administrative field plus an NVQ 4 qualification or equivalent in a relevant field, or Degree-level education or significant equivalent experience.
* Working knowledge of:
* Delivering waiting time information and capacity issues to clinicians & managers.
* GCSE Maths & English Language Level 4 or above (grades A-C), or equivalent.
* Vocational experience working in a customer-focused NHS booking office providing experience of:
* Managing teams or services.
* Prioritising patients using a waiting list and reporting waiting list information.
* National Policy for Referral to Treatment standards.
* People management skills with experience of supervising staff.
* IT skills and demonstrate experience in Word Processing, spreadsheets and databases.
* Knowledge of Meditech.
