ASSISTANT HIGHWAYS OPERATIONS MANAGER (WMF1904e)
Location: Barrow/Kendal
Contract Type: Permanent
About this opportunity
You will take an active supporting leadership role in operations in the drive for service transformation, service stability and associated operational development works across the service. You will assist in the planning, organising and control of the delivery of several multi-professional services to meet the objectives of agreed business plans in an effective and efficient manner including:
* South Lakeland Highways Operational delivery
* Barrow Highways Operational delivery
* Windermere Ferry operations
* Jubilee Bridge Operational activities
* Council Stores and support functions
* Winter services
* Out Of Hours
* Highways depot management (inc Fleet / plant & equipment)
You will ensure that staff engage and work with the whole organisation, encouraging a ‘one team’ work and performance culture, whilst delivering an effective and efficient highways services. You will innovate services and maximise operational and income return, where appropriate. The role will develop and instil Health & Safety and safe legal practise into daily operations and you will manage a Specialist service or stand-alone capabilities in support of Highways Delivery.
