The Aire Rivers Trust is a charity set up to improve the ecological quality of the River Aire and its tributaries. We are looking for new trustees, particularly individuals with accountancy skills and on average half a day a week to spare.
The role involves overseeing our financial systems and being active on our Finance and Risk Committee as well as our Board. You would provide support and expertise to our Finance Officer and Chief Executive. An interest in ecological issues would be helpful, as would a level of accounting literacy that could assist in reporting and strategic planning. While you are encouraged to get involved with our river bank and water works, it is important to note that environmental work increasingly involves desk work.
Currently, we are using Quickbooks and establishing project management systems to empower our staff team to manage their project budgets effectively. We have doubled in size to ten staff in three years, leading to increasingly complex workstreams. Although there have been growing pains, it is an exciting time for the Trust. Our staff and trustees are clever, hard-working, and committed. The skills and knowledge to support our staff would greatly benefit our small organization.
