Speech and Language Therapist
Hours: 37.5 per week (Term Time Only)
Salary: depending on experience. FTE £37.338 - £45,000 (Actual £32,218.39 - £38,829.81 due to school holidays)
Permanent Role to start as soon as possible
We are looking for a talented Speech and Language Therapist who can work in an innovative way to lead our Early Years Communication and Interaction Hub. The hub has capacity for 8-10 Early Years (and a few KS1) pupils who primarily have difficulties with Communication and Interaction, most are in the early stages of language development, and some are pre-verbal. Some of our children have multiple areas of need.
This role will require you to deliver high-quality speech and language therapy and direct teaching using communication-based approaches – curiosity framework, attention autism, intensive interaction (aged 3-5 years). As the hub lead, you will design and deliver an individualised curriculum alongside the SENCo and Educational Psychologist, using appropriate strategies and interventions based on the needs of the children. You will be responsible for building your team and developing their expertise through modelling and CPD.

The successful candidate will work 39 weeks (term time) and will be paid for 44.87weeks (This equates to not being in school for the whole of the school holidays (13 weeks).
Successful applicants will:
-be passionate about inclusion and high aspirations for all children.
-be a trained speech and language therapist.
-have experience of working with children, Early Years experience is desirable but not essential.
-have experience of working with schools to develop language provision, especially for children in the early stages of language.
-have experience of leading a team and building effective working relationships.
-have a commitment to working with families closely
-have experience of bespoke intervention support for pre-verbal children including Intensive Interaction, using objects of reference, core vocabulary grids, Attention Autism and the curiosity framework or an equivalent.
