Job Summary: Join a Good rated school in Caterham, near Croydon, as a Level 1-2 SEN Teaching Assistant. Support students with complex needs, including Asperger's Syndrome and Autism, in a nurturing environment.
Your Role: Assist students' learning and well-being, establishing warm relationships and fostering a safe learning atmosphere. Encourage independence and personal growth, while maintaining high behavioural standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in planning and evaluating learning activities.
* Provide valuable feedback on student progress and achievement.
* Help monitor, assess, record, and report on pupils' progress in line with school policies.
* Support positive behaviour and focus, adapting your approach as needed.
* Promote spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development, and uphold British values within the PSHE framework.
* Foster students' cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical development, and spiritual well-being through a holistic curriculum.
* Flexibility and willingness to assist where needed in the dynamic SEN environment.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Experience in an SEN role, either employed or voluntary.
* Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle (essential for student carpooling on a rota basis).
* Recognised Level 2 or higher qualification in Support Work for Teaching and Learning in Schools (desirable).
* GCSE Maths and English Level 2/C or above (essential).
* Knowledge of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
* Experience with pupils with SEN or SEMH/ASD.
* A child-first approach, recognising and responding to each student's individuality.
* Creativity and positivity in meeting pupils' needs.
