Lead Project Engineer
Salary: c£70K an attractive benefits package + £2k relocation assistance (if needed)

Are you an experienced Project Manager who can lead on the engineering solutions and innovation for a major industrial construction project?
The Lead Project Engineer will manage the build and delivery of an operationally carbon zero cleanroom laundry – a world first – due to be operational in 2027.
This is a £15M greenfield project and the first phase of a multi-phase campus site development, to be delivered over the next 10 to 15 years.
The ideal Lead Project Engineer will have:
1. A track record of leading on major capital projects including industrial construction projects (multi-million pound scale)
2. Ability to apply engineering knowledge to technological innovation
3. Broad engineering knowledge and will bring ingenuity to solving the technological challenges of the project
4. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
5. Experience of cleanrooms or the life sciences industries is desirable
6. Project management qualifications or experience - will contribute to ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time and on budget
7. Proficiency in AutoCAD to read, amend and create architectural drawings and piping / instrumentation diagrams
8. A completer / finisher mindset, being comfortable in the detail of addressing snags to realise the initial vision, taking project outcomes from good to excellent
The Lead Project Engineer will be responsible for:
1. Developing engineering solutions at the forefront of innovation in the laundry industry
2. Managing virtual teams, coordinating and motivating these groups to deliver project outcomes
3. Taking a structured and flexible approach to project management tools and behaviours, ultimately being outcomes focused
4. Identifying and managing the project critical path, including managing risks and opportunities
5. Contributing to key project management practices, including time/resource planning, cost planning, creation and management of specifications and other key records, project review, reporting and communication
6. Selecting contractors and suppliers and managing them as partners
7. Occasional and international travel to visit suppliers, contractors and exhibitions
This role would suit an innovative and solutions-based Engineer who can lead the project management of a new industrial cleanroom laundry.
