Join Our Team as a Reception Teaching Assistant Are you passionate about supporting children with diverse needs? We are looking for a dedicated Reception Teaching Assistant to join our team in Bishop Auckland to start on a hort-short term afternoon basis (12:30 pm – 3:30 pm) with the potential to move to a full-day role. The Role: A supportive and inclusive learning environment with opportunities to make a real difference. A dynamic role working across the classroom, sensory room, and 1:1 support. Collaboration with a great team including another staff member to support up to 6 children with high levels of ASD in the sensory room. Potential for increased hours and transition to a full-day position based on need. Ongoing training and support to help you thrive in the role. Key Responsibilities: Provide general in-class support during Reception lessons. Assist with small group work in our sensory room, supporting children with high levels of ASD. Offer 1:1 support for a pupil with SEMH needs, fostering their emotional and educational development. Help create a calm and nurturing environment where children can thrive. What we're looking for: Experience working with children, particularly in Early Years or with additional needs (ASD and SEMH). A patient, compassionate, and flexible approach. Strong communication skills and a commitment to working collaboratively with staff, children, and families. Ideally, some experience supporting children in a 1:1 or small group setting.
