Job Duties
Provides strategic and operational oversight of all aspects of student life, engagement, student organizations, and leadership at NSU and supports international student transition to the University community. This position also ensures all students find a sense of belonging and connection to NSU beyond the classroom. Also, the Director cultivates a dynamic, experiential, and student-centered environment that provides a model of excellence for student engagement and community building and fosters opportunities for collaboration and partnerships within the Campus Life & Diversity workgroup, areas within the Division of Student Affairs, as well as areas within and beyond the campus environment. Demonstrates a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and focus on ensuring a sense of
belonging is highly valued throughout the department and supported campus-wide. This position is classified as essential personnel.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Previous experience working directly within Student Activities and/or Student Activities & Leadership area as the Director or Associate Director is required.
2. At least three years’ work experience at the Assistant Director level or above within a division of Student Affairs area or working specifically within a major student programming role, and/or student leadership program.
3. Experience planning/hosting major student events and have experience building upon campus traditions.
4. A culturally-responsive professional who demonstrates the ability to communicate across differences and interpersonally with a wide range of stakeholders.
5. Knowledge of social media use and applications.
6. Knowledge of laws and regulations related to higher education student affairs processes, policies, and engagement.
7. Must be proficient with MS Office.

Additional Considerations
1. Master’s degree, preferably in a student affairs-related or Education field.
2. At least three years of experience in a Director of Student Activities role or similar role.
3. At least three years of responsibility for designing, creating, and implementing programmatic experience for student programs, student activities, and leadership strongly preferred.
4.Proficient with Google Suite, Canva, and Adobe Cloud is a plus.
