Müller is currently recruiting within our Branded Research & Development team for a Senior Development Technologist at Market Drayton for a fixed term of 12 months. You will take ownership of product development-based projects from concept to launch.
Key Accountabilities: Delivery of NPD projects within agreed timeframes, cost & technical constraints (nutritional/technical/food law).
Key Activities for the Senior Development Technologist:
• Management of product development projects from concept to launch.
• Liaison with internal stakeholders as appropriate to successfully deliver projects.
• Liaison with external parties to source/develop new ingredients, processes or products.
• Negotiate/agree timeframes & technical constraints (nutritional, commercial, food law, product proposition).
• Understand and advise factory process capabilities (within the Müller group & amongst 3rd Party Suppliers).
• Actively seek out and investigate novel technologies (Product & Process) to provide competitive advantage.
• Undertake cost saving, nutritional improvement and quality driven projects, as well as sourcing/approval of new materials and suppliers.
Knowledge & Skills for the Senior Development Technologist:
• Knowledge of food science or science to degree level, ideally some knowledge of dairy processing.
• Experience in a creative product development role is essential, preferably branded.
• Ability to apply knowledge for commercial advantage.
• Ability to work within multi-disciplinary project teams.
• Strong communication & influencing skills.
• Effective time management skills (effective prioritisation and management of multiple projects).
• Working knowledge of food law, minimum ingredients lists/nutrition panels.
• Self-starter with the ability to function within a small team.
• Numerate and MS Office literate (particularly spreadsheets).
