Job summary Northamptonshire Integrated Sexual Health and HIV (NISHH) Service, requires an Outreach Support Worker to join our friendly and dynamic team to provide and maintain high standards of patient care. The Sexual Health Outreach Team plays a vital role in the education, support and safer sex promotion around sexual health and basic contraception to young people, vulnerable and/or at-risk groups across Northamptonshire. The post-holder is responsible for providing information, education, STI and pregnancy testing in the community, alongside clinical colleagues in sexual health clinics and key community partner agencies across South Northamptonshire. The successful candidate will provide education tackling a range of safer sex topics using sensitive information, which requires an enthusiastic and strong communicator with the ability to be both non-judgmental and discreet. A key focus of this role is promoting and delivering both the Chlamydia Screening Programme (CSP) and C-Card Service, as well training partners to expand service access. The post-holder will need to demonstrate flexibility as they may be presenting a school assembly one day and be holding a drop-in for vulnerable adults the next. Main duties of the job Proactive engagement with young people, vulnerable and/or at-risk groups. Building and sustaining good links with key statutory and community partners. Providing information and education of sexual health and basic contraception through sex education talks, staff training sessions, drop-ins, 1:1 support, events and online promotion and campaigns. Enable wider access to sexual health services through support, guidance, signposting and referral. Promotion & delivery of CSP and C-Card Service involving provision of condoms, STI testing and pregnancy testing. Use of online and social media platforms. Accurate record keeping and assisting in service monitoring and evaluation. Administrative duties, including dealing with postal kit and condom orders and stock management.
