Job description
We are seeking a Quality Manager to join us on the A428 project. The purpose of the Scheme is to address the problems of congestion, poor journey time reliability and poor resilience against incidents between the Black Cat and Caxton Gibbet roundabouts. The Scheme seeks to address these problems through the construction of a new 10 mile dual 2-lane carriageway from west of the A421 / A1 Black Cat roundabout through to east of the A428/A1198 Caxton Gibbet roundabout. This role is site-based.

You'll:
1. Be a Quality Manager working on the A428 Black Cat to Caxton Gibbet Improvement scheme
2. Supporting project delivery through the detailed design, construction, and handover stages of the project
3. Required to ensure adequacy of the project Quality system, maintain, and develop as suitable, quality processes and procedures for the project and ensure quality audits are conducted regularly, with prompt action taken to close out audit findings
4. You will be supported by a Technical Lead and will be required to demonstrate consistent approaches to quality management with other Quality Managers on the scheme
5. You are expected to own and develop the scheme Quality Plan to ensure it remains relevant, adequate and suitable throughout all project phases
6. Be accountable for ensuring compliance with the Quality Plan and will create a culture amongst the delivery team which reflects this
7. Support the Works Inspector in assessing on site quality and the site team delivering compliance to the assured design
8. Working closely with Construction Managers, Agents and our supply chain to ensure inspection and testing requirements are understood, complied with and the resulting records retained to provide the required construction assurance and meeting handover requirements.
We're looking for:
9. Effective written and verbal communication skills to diverse audiences.
10. Knowledge and understanding of engineering principles and common construction methodologies.
11. Digital competence (MS Office 365, document control systems, site digital tools).
12. Formal training in quality management and auditing.
13. CSCS Card
14. Experience in delivering major highways schemes
15. Membership of or working towards Chartered Quality professional (CQI) status.
