The Project:
Dewey Group is working closely with a leading piling contractor to supply an Estimator for their Northern division. This role will focus on major projects, rather than smaller-scale jobs, within the piling and ground engineering sector. Based in Scotland, the Estimator will support high-profile and large-scale projects across the North. Job Description:
As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the cost planning and estimating processes for major projects, ensuring that all costs are accurately assessed and allocated for large-scale piling and ground engineering works. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile projects, focusing on the larger, more complex aspects of construction while avoiding the smaller, routine jobs that form the core of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop accurate and detailed cost estimates for major piling and ground engineering projects across Scotland.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and senior leadership to identify cost-effective solutions for large-scale works.
• Source and assess quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive and accurate pricing for major projects.
• Prepare comprehensive tender submissions and evaluate cost implications for different project options.
• Monitor project budgets and provide regular updates to ensure alignment with initial estimates.
• Ensure that all estimates meet project specifications, timelines, and safety standards, with a focus on larger-scale, high-impact work.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Proven experience as an Estimator within the ground engineering, or construction sectors, ideally with a focus on large-scale projects.
• Strong understanding of construction cost planning, tendering, and contract administration.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Relevant qualifications in estimating, construction, or a related field.

Shift Pattern:
This is a full-time permanent position, Monday to Friday. Flexibility in hours may be required depending on work load.
