We are looking for enthusiastic, forward-thinking, professional, and friendly staff nurses to join the team within the Medical Day Case Unit based in Arrowe Park Hospital.
This post initially involves day time working from 8am-4pm, with future expansion to 8am-8pm Monday - Friday. Both full-time and part-time positions are available.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate enhanced clinical knowledge of both day case procedures alongside ambulatory care models of working. This candidate will need to be competent in numerous clinical skills such as venepuncture, complex management of lines/drains, ANTT practices, and pre/post-operative recovery monitoring, alongside the ability to prioritize their own workload with minimal supervision.
Following the relocation of the Medical Day Case Unit to a new facility, this enables many of our patients to attend as planned day cases and return home the same day.
The Medical Day Case Unit works in conjunction with many specialty teams, including Cardiac, Heart Failure, Frailty, Respiratory, Haematology, and Gastroenterology Ambulatory services to promote admission avoidance and deliver safe planned care.
The Unit also offers recovery for Interventional Radiology patients, ensuring that they can undergo specialized investigations and be discharged home the same day following a short recovery period.
All new colleagues can expect to receive a warm and friendly Wirral welcome from the very first time they make contact with us. We are described as “competent and caring staff” by our patients.
