The Role
As a Principal Quality Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will support and enhance your customers’ defence and security capabilities and critical assets, meeting their requirements of value for money, increased availability, modernisation, and flexibility.
Day-to-day, you’ll provide guidance and support to the project team on all matters related to Quality, ensuring outputs meet customer and regulatory requirements in a timely manner. The key focus of this role is to support the delivery of some of our most important contracts, to the right Quality and to the planned cost.
You will also:
1. Represent the customer’s interests and help to maintain the open and collaborative relationship.
2. Provide Quality input and advice through the product lifecycle.
3. Identify Quality Requirements, customer and internal, within multiple projects.
4. Provide continuous improvement facilitation and implementation.
5. Identify Quality risk and work to mitigate, manage and escalate to programme leadership.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is fully remote. However, you may be required to travel around the UK when the project demands.
Essential Experience of the Principal Quality Engineer
1. Experience of auditing Quality ISO9001 management systems.
2. Acceptance test knowledge and experience (Factory Acceptance Test and Site Acceptance Test).
Qualifications for the Principal Quality Engineer
1. Ordinary National Certificate, Higher National Certificates or National Vocational Qualifications Level 3 qualification in a Quality, science, engineering discipline, or significant years working in a Quality role.
2. Membership of an applicable body, CQI preferred but not essential.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance for this role. However, the successful candidate can start on Standard (BPSS) security clearance but will then need to achieve Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance.
