Your Role and Responsibilities This role has been tailored for aspiring design managers who want to move beyond hands-on design work into managing the full design process. You’ll be involved in: Supporting the Delivery of Flagship Projects: Work on large-scale mixed-use, cultural, and hospitality projects, valued from £50 million to £200 million, including UK & international projects. Project Coordination: Assist in coordinating multidisciplinary design teams, ensuring the smooth flow of information between consultants, contractors, and clients. Client and Stakeholder Engagement: Gain exposure to client meetings, help refine project briefs, gain exposure to change management, and contribute to key presentations at various project stages. Design Programme Support: Collaborate on drafting design schedules, responsibility matrices, and project route maps. Financial Involvement: Work with internal finance teams and cost consultants on project fees, gaining exposure to drafting additional fee proposals based on client changes. Key Requirements: Experience Level: A minimum of 1 year post RIBA Part II experience as an Architectural Assistant, or a recently qualified Architects (up to 4 years post-Part III experience). Project Experience: Involvement in medium-large scale projects (£25 million) within a UK-based studio. Software Skills: Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, Adobe CS, and any additional document management software is highly advantageous. Training will be provided. Understanding of Design Management: Familiarity with design management workflows, documentation, and client interaction. Examples of specific documentation would be highly advantageous (design programmes you have worked on/contributed to etc.). Communication Skills: Effective at engaging with stakeholders, presenting ideas clearly, and working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. Lead Consultant Experience (Highly Desirable): Experience working on projects where your employer or studio was appointed as the lead consultant, coordinating design teams and client interactions.
