Our Infrastructure team brings its design, build and refurbishment expertise to complex projects across the country. Our next project will be partnering with Network Rail, and we are now seeking a Project Director to support the strategy plans and drive the successful delivery of these projects and works in Liverpool.
What you'll do:
1. Work with the Programme/Sector Director to develop MVP Business Plans for Network Rail and concept designs, with focus on buildability and customer budgets.
2. Work with the Lead Design Manager to identify and secure the best design partner and other strategic partners for the project.
3. Perform the role of Bid Director to ensure the transfer and continuity of the Business Plan strategy into the Bid/Project Execution Plan.
4. Responsible for overall delivery of portfolio of projects and establish the Project Execution Plan to be implemented.
5. Ensure appropriate resources and expertise are made available.
6. Provide leadership to Project Managers and carry out regular project reviews.
7. Develop project risk management strategies and liaise with stakeholders to resolve issues early.
8. Lead the development of client, customer, stakeholder and supply chain relationships.
What you'll bring to the role:
1. Excellent collaborative leadership skills including project delivery.
2. Knowledge and experience of commercial and contractual conditions and project management.
3. Successful Project or Programme management of large infrastructure Projects in the Rail Sector between £7m and £200m, exhibiting leadership capabilities to lead large diverse teams.
4. Significant experience in dealing with Rail Infrastructure Clients, preferably Network Rail. In-depth collaboration experience. Clear understanding of Government/regulatory authority impact on our clients and evidence on how to use this to maximise the short- and long-term return to Skanska.
5. Programme management experience at senior level with evidence of managing and delivering multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects, including experience in dealing with clients or delivering projects for the Rail industry.
6. Extensive technical knowledge and experience of Heavy Civil Engineering in an existing live Rail environment.
7. Understanding of procurement, financing and accounting processes and procedures.
