Occupational Therapy Assistant (13/890)
Thornhill
We have a 36 hours Permanent vacancy for 52.14 weeks per year for an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) based in Mid & Upper Nithsdale Home Team.
The OTA will support an Occupational Therapist in partnership with people with disabilities and their informal carers, and take forward recommendations to meet needs, which will include assistive equipment and adaptations. The post holder will conduct desk-based assessments for the blue badge scheme. The OTA will work within a multidisciplinary Home Team which includes other Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants, Social Workers, District Nurses, Public Health Improvement workers, and the extended team of colleagues in Housing, Care and Repair, and other agencies. The Home Team model is a new and progressive approach within community health and social care.
We are looking for someone with experience in health and social care roles involving assistive equipment and teamwork. You will have effective communication and computer skills, as well as good organisational skills, and will work towards understanding the legislation underpinning the provision of services to disabled people.
You will be joining the service during a period of significant change with the development of Home Teams and will be positive about change and working in new ways, with a desire to be involved in the team's development.
Regular professional supervision will be with the Occupational Therapist, and performance and development reviews are in place, along with opportunities to further develop skills and experience.
