We are recruiting for two Conveyancing Assistants to join our London office and support the Private Property team in providing a first-class service to our clients.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
1. Assisting fee earners with the firm’s internal work acceptance process including creating and updating new matters on the firm’s conveyancing management system.
2. Assisting with the firm’s onboarding processes including delivery of client engagement letters and transaction documents.
3. Undertaking electronic client identification checks via the firm’s chosen online conveyancing platform.
4. Requesting Land Registry official copies and usual conveyancing searches
5. Assisting fee earners with the submission of SDLT Returns and Land Registry applications via the firm’s chosen online conveyancing platform
6. Taking and carrying out instructions from clients and acting on behalf of clients to bring matters to satisfactory conclusion.
7. Assisting other members of the team in client related matters, drafting of simple legal documents and file management.
8. Completing billing tasks accurately and on time.
9. Working proactively with the firm’s credit control team in relation to client payments, in conjunction with the team’s fee earners.
10. Comply with policies and practices including Risk, money laundering, the Firm’s office manual and regulatory requirements external to Thrings such as the SRA Code of Practice and the requirements of the Conveyancing Quality Scheme.
11. Taking responsibility for achieving all forms of continuous development.
What we’re looking for:
12. At least 12 months experience in a property support role.
13. Experience of delivering a high standard of client service.
14. Knowledge or a strong understanding of conveyancing law and practice including preparing contract packs, carrying out searches, dealing with SDLT forms and payments, completing applications to the Land Registry and preparation of financial statements.
15. Knowledge or a strong understanding of conveyancing case management systems
16. Strong client communication skills.
17. Knowledge of Solicitors accounts and ability to prepare completion statements.
18. Excellent literacy skills including drafting style, attention to detail, and accurate use of the English language.
Working hours & location:
This is a hybrid role based in our London office.
It’s a full-time position, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
