GSL Education are looking for an experienced and compassionate Autism Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated school in Scunthorpe. As an Autism Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting students with Autism, helping them engage with the curriculum, and fostering their independence. Your support will be crucial in creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment that encourages social, emotional, and academic growth. Your Responsibilities will be: Provide tailored one-to-one or small group support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Assist in implementing and monitoring Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Collaborate with teachers to adapt lessons and learning materials to suit the individual needs of students. Support students in developing communication, social interaction, and behavioural skills. Encourage independence and confidence through structured routines and positive reinforcement. Assist in creating a safe, stimulating, and nurturing classroom environment. Work closely with parents, caregivers, and specialists to ensure cohesive support for students. Autism TA Qualifications: Experience working with children with Autism or similar needs as a Teaching Assistant. Understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder and effective strategies to support students. A qualification such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3, or equivalent in Education, Childcare, or SEN is highly desirable. Strong communication skills, patience, and empathy.
