Joining/Welding Engineer
Location: West Midlands
Automotive experience preferred
Responsibilities:
1. Technical responsibility for welding across the organisation
2. Development and control of welding procedures
3. Responsible for qualifying and maintaining welder certification
4. Champion audit compliance in particular NADCAP and customer accreditation
5. Participate and implement Technology Development Plans for new welding and joining technology and reduce waste with enhanced efficiency
6. Involvement in Design for Manufacture assessments and Design reviews
7. Metallurgical analysis for weld certification and welder qualification
8. Provide training and technical support to Welding Operators
9. Participate and lead RRCA investigations and support implementing robust corrective actions
Experience:
10. International Welding Engineer (IWE) / European Welding Engineer (EWE) qualification preferred
11. 2-5+ years of related welding and technical experience
12. Proven background in the compliance to NADCAP accreditation
13. Previous metallurgical experience preferred
14. Candidate should have a good familiarity with expectations associated with aerospace or other comprehensive quality assurance systems, including ISO or AS
15. Experience conducting internal Quality audits or supporting Quality audits by external customers is a plus
