Job title: Personal Assistant

Hours of work: 16 hours per week
Rate of pay: £12.50 per hour
Introduction:
A committed, caring and flexible Personal Assistant is required to support a 35 year old gentleman, who is easy going and has bundles of personality. The gentleman has epilepsy, but seizures are very few and far between. He is a wheelchair user, but is weight-bearing to walk, although he will need assistance with transfers.
You will be required to support the gentleman to maintain his general health and wellbeing, by supporting him to access the local area. His interests are visiting the local coastline, our local heritage and he enjoys going bowling and socialising in the pub.
The hours to be worked as required and agreed in advance.
Main Duties:
• Support with personal care
• Assist with getting dressed/undressed
• Support with accessing the community
• Preparing meals and drinks
• Support with cleaning around the home
Person Specification:
• Committed, responsible and patient
• Sense of humour
• Outgoing personality
• Fit and healthy
• Non-smoker essential
• Comfortable around a large dog
• Maintain confidentiality and be aware of privacy
• Rigid around working hours and time-keeping is essential (Days and hours can be flexible and variable, with prior agreement)
• Full Driving Licence. Be able to drive and have access to own vehicle, you must have business use on your insurance to be able to use the vehicle within work hours.
• Epilepsy training would be useful but is not essential, as training could be provided.
Benefits:
5.6 weeks holiday per year (pro rata).
