We’re seeking an experienced Payroll and Accounts Officer to assist in conducting a fortnightly end to end payroll for roughly 220 employees. You will also be responsible for various accounting duties including accounts payable, supporting accounts receivable and preparing related journals/reconciliations.
This position is ideal for someone who wants limited hours – 2 days per week (7.6 hours per day). Hourly pay rate - $40.49
In this role you will:
* Complete end to end payroll
* Coordinate and administer the payroll system to ensure the accurate payment of staff wages, salaries, and entitlements within specified time frames and in compliance with relevant awards, legislation, policies, and procedures
* Actively seek to improve the function of payroll and its systems
* Provide advice, assistance, and reporting to all employees/management regarding all pay related matters
* Accounts payable tasks including entering invoices, setting up weekly payment runs, supplier data maintenance and responding to supplier queries
* Supporting ad hoc accounts receivable tasks including invoice processing and distribution
* Preparation of journals and month-end reconciliations related to areas of responsibility
* Other administration duties as required
The ideal candidate will have:
* 3-5 years' experience with payroll (preferably in Access Micropay)
* Working knowledge of the SCHADS Award
* Experience with Access Micropay is desirable but not essential
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Analytical and problem-solving skills
* Good time management and prioritisation skills
* Experience with salary packaging and Fringe Benefit Tax would be highly valued
* Experience working with a not for profit organisation is desirable
