We are looking for an Assistant Accountant to ensure an efficient standardised process is in place to enable governance, reporting and accuracy of financial information channelled through an excellent service delivery to the wider Business Unit.
What you’ll do:
* Post customer payments to the appropriate customer accounts and projects in the system. Investigate unidentified customer payments. Liaise with the OUs to address and resolve issues related to missing billing or missing remittance advices.
* Raise invoices and credit notes and record revenue postings. Liaise with the requester to address and resolve issues related to missing or incorrect information. Prepare and input standard journals to the project ledger.
* Prepare and analyse ageing debt report to track outstanding payments and follow up on overdue accounts. Generate regular reports for unallocated cash, Tax report and Exception report.
* Handle customer inquiries related to billing, receipts, and account balances in a professional and timely manner.
* Prepare month-end reconciliation of AR sub-ledger to the GL for manager’s review. Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records and other key metrics.
* Assist manager with ad hoc tasks to answer specific and immediate questions from the business.
* Support process review and improvement initiatives.
What you’ll bring to the role:
* ERP system knowledge, Oracle Fusion preferred.
* Detailed and analytical approach.
* Customer focused – experience of working in a shared service environment preferred.
* Demonstration of process improvement and automation.
* Ability to follow and document processes.
* Knowledge of financial and management accounting practices.
