Job Description Purpose of the role To support the development of audits aligned to the bank’s standards and objectives by working collaboratively with colleagues, providing accurate information and recommendations, and complying with policies and procedures. Accountabilities Audit development and delivery support, including financial statements, accounting practices, operational processes, IT systems and risk management. Identification of operational risks to support the delivery of the Barclays Internal Audit (BIA) Audit Plan through risk assessments. Assessment of internal control effectiveness and their capability to identify and mitigate risk aligned to regulatory requirements. Communication of key findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including the Audit Owner, senior managers and directors. Identification of regulatory news and industry trends/developments to provide timely insight and recommendations for best practice. You will work closely with the Global Markets and Lending Operations Audit Owners to ensure that audits are delivered on time and in line with methodology. This will include assessing risks and controls, performing audit testing, and discussing the results with your stakeholders. You will also contribute to our continuous monitoring work to ensure that BIA and the business are up to speed on the latest developments in the internal and external environment. To achieve these goals, you will collaborate with others in BIA, develop client relationships, and be seen as a respected voice. This will support the delivery of the audit plan and the assessment and reporting on the effectiveness of the operations control environment to the Barclays Board Audit Committee. You will support Audit Owners in scoping and planning, identifying, assessing, and documenting risks and controls, and completing testing within agreed timelines. You will identify efficient testing opportunities using data analytics, evaluate and test the design and operating effectiveness of controls, and document your audit work in the BIA audit workflow tool. You will write high-quality working papers and issues, support the Audit Owner in writing the audit report, and ensure your work is documented on time and to quality standards in line with BIA methodology. To be successful as a Internal Auditor Markets & Lending Operations you should have experience with Experience in risk-based auditing or risk/control activities. Excellent communication skills demonstrating a collaborative approach across a range of stakeholders. Attention to detail and accuracy, with a structured, logical approach.
