An exciting opportunity has arisen to join AJB Group within our team as a Health & Safety Part Time Manager.
Job Overview:
As the Part-Time Health and Safety Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing health and safety compliance across the business, ensuring that the company’s operations meet legal requirements and industry best practices. You will play a key role in ensuring the safety of our team in the field, supporting staff training, conducting risk assessments, and staying up to date with the latest legislation in the arboriculture sector.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Regulatory Compliance: Stay up to date with the latest UK health and safety legislation, industry regulations, and best practices in the arboricultural sector. Ensure the company is compliant with relevant laws, including the Health and Safety at Work Act, HSE guidelines, and industry-specific safety standards.
2. Safety Audits & Inspections: Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Identify any hazards or potential risks and take immediate action to mitigate them.
3. Accident Reporting & Investigation: Oversee the reporting and investigation of any accidents, incidents, or near misses. Ensure that proper documentation is maintained, and corrective actions are implemented.
4. Health and Safety Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date health and safety records, including risk assessments, training records, accident reports, and safety meeting notes.
5. Liaison with External Bodies: Liaise with external health and safety consultants, regulatory bodies, and industry organizations to ensure the company stays informed of changes in legislation and industry practices.
6. Emergency Procedures & First Aid: Review and implement emergency procedures, ensuring that the team is equipped with the necessary knowledge and equipment, including first aid training and equipment.
Requirements:
* NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) in Occupational Health & Safety.
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Health & Safety role
* Strong communication skills and proven experience leading a safety-first culture.
* Up-to-date knowledge of NI Health & Safety regulations and relevant industry standards.
* Strong knowledge of HS practices, policies, and employment laws.
* Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.
* Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
* Strong organisational, critical thinking and communications skills.
* Attention to detail and good judgement.
* A strong understanding of Compliance & Health & Safety.
* UK Driver’s Licence
