We are supporting a company based on the outskirts of Colchester with recruiting for an Accounts Payable Assistant. You will need to be able to drive to be considered due to the company location. The hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am-5:30pm, and the salary is £26k-£28k Per Annum (DOE). This is a fully office-based role with free parking on-site. Full training for the below duties will be provided.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
1. Coding & inputting purchase invoices
2. Reconciliation of Purchase Ledger statements to invoices
3. Processing monthly pay runs and issuing weekly pay run schedules
4. Maintaining accurate supplier and account records
5. Monitoring shared accounts mailbox
6. Completion of mileage and fuel records for company van fleet
7. Making payments when requested (e.g. road tax)
8. Raising queries with suppliers and chasing internally
9. Regular contact with suppliers by phone, fax, and email
To be successful for this position, you will need to have a basic understanding of accounts procedures with excellent communication skills. You must either be experienced in a previous role or hold/be studying towards relevant accountancy qualifications.
