Job summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Clinical Equipment Specialist to join our team at an exciting time while transitioning into our new Velindre Cancer Centre. As post holder you will work as part of the Equipment, Commissioning and Migration workstream for the new Velindre Cancer Centre (nVCC) under the direction of the Equipment Workstream Delivery Manager. You will provide technical expertise across all aspects of clinical equipment and you will work across various disciplines including imaging, radiotherapy, and surgical equipment. The role will also involve assessing new equipment for clinical efficacy and compliance with regulatory standards. The post holder will work work closely with healthcare professionals, innovative equipment solutions will be deployed that fully meet user needs and align with relevant clinical strategies and best practices. As post holder you will play a crucial part in supporting clinical staff ensuring that equipment is safe and reliable enhancing patient care quality. This post is fixed term/secondment for 29 months due to funding until 31st Sept 2027. Main duties of the job As post holder you are expected to plan personal workload and using your own initiative to ensure the equipment is working as specified. You will support the nVCC Clinical change programme through the preparation of technical plans for a wide range of clinical equipment and the application of principles that comply with clinical and safety standards. Coordinates the installation of equipment into the nVCC along with the planning and migration of existing clinical equipment and services. Manages relationships with current and potential 3rd party clinical equipment suppliers to ensure contractual obligations are met, technical specifications are understood, and the Trust's expectations are fully met. Perform maintenance on clinical equipment to ensure reliability and safety Attend regular work stream meetings to provide progress updates and highlight key risks and issues.
