Health & Safety is the responsibility of each and every employee on site, supported by Health & Safety professionals who take the lead in ensuring that the site is not only compliant with our legal obligations but works to exceed the standards you would expect in a global organisation.
What You Will Do
As a Safety Specialist you will be supported by the friendly and professional team to gain a thorough insight in to how the site operates; from understanding the site organisation and management structure through to understanding the manufacturing processes we use.
You will report to the RESH Manager and be a go-to person for all colleagues regarding H&S topics.Being naturally self-autonomous you will be able to plan, as well as support the arrangements of, and deliver Health & Safety training on site.You will contribute to the generation of monthly reports to measure performance against key performance indicators (KPI’s) together with promoting the role of Health & Safety across the site. You will also support the site leadership team in closing investigations.
Who You Are
First and foremost, you will have a passion to actively improve and monitor safety practices, and with that comes your natural ability to take responsibility and show initiative as well as be approachable. Your application for this role will also need to show your experience in a production environment working within health and safety.We would like you to demonstrate the effective impact on the business that your involvement in H&S based projects as well as day-to-day H&S activities have created.
You will also possess the following attributes:
* To articulate confidently and clearly both verbal and written with people at different levels within the organisation
* To prioritise and adapt to change positively
* To professionally and constructively challenge others
* To work well under pressure ensuring deadlines are met and outcomes monitored
* Have a logical and methodical approach to problem solving
* Strong IT literacy with a working knowledge of Microsoft office products, and the use of web-based H&S applications are also key requirements.
* Attained the NEBOSH NGC in Occupational Health and Safety management or equivalent (or be committed to complete in role).
