Senior Architectural Technician - Up to £45,000 - Birmingham
A Senior Architectural Technician, with skills using Revit Software, is actively being sought to join a highly successful Architectural practice with a completed order book of work into 2026!
You will be working on diverse projects across many different sectors including but not limited to Transport, Rail, Commercial, Education, Industrial, Retail and High-End housing.
Role within practice
1. Project runner and design team coordinator generally focusing on a single primary project.
2. Client liaison on small commissions under guidance of team leader.
3. Representative of the practice externally through client and consultant liaison.
4. Mentor for less experienced staff members.
5. Developing project and team leadership role within the practice.
6. Developing technical design approach and bringing experience to the realisation of design concepts.
7. Key role in the development of design proposals from RIBA stage 4 onwards and involvement in project development across all work stages.
Job Function
1. Essential post for the development of projects from RIBA stage 4 onwards, dependent upon project sizes.
2. Generally concentrating on a single larger project with others in development.
3. The primary day-to-day project running role generally post contract, with responsibility and reporting direct to Associates and Partners and in accordance with RIBA guidance and good practice ensuring office resources respond to project requirements.
Responsibilities
Provision of Technical Services including:
1. Technical Design.
2. Design team coordination.
3. Chairing and documenting design team meetings.
4. Attendance at (and running of where necessary) site meetings.
5. Assisting senior team member in the preparation of project programme.
6. Maintaining records of site visits and telephone conversations.
7. Issuing and receiving drawings and other project information.
8. Assisting in the management of planning protocols and liaising with the relevant local authority officers.
9. Management of building regulations protocols and liaison with relevant authorities. Maintenance of relevant trackers.
10. Producing letters, reports, presentations and other documentation on Microsoft Word, Publisher and PowerPoint.
Comprehensive Computer Skills including:
1. CAD package as appropriate to projects (Revit/ Autocad).
2. Adobe Photoshop.
3. Adobe InDesign.
4. MS Office 365 including Publisher, Excel and Project.
Training/ Support
1. Continued professional development through recognised RIBA or CIAT structure will be supported by the practice.
2. Self-directed courses, seminars, etc. will be supported by the practice where the individual can demonstrate their relevance to the practice.
3. Study days for ACIAT certification are allowed as study leave and not deducted from annual leave allowance.
4. CIAT membership is not a requirement of the practice.
Qualifications:
HNC/ HND in construction related subject or Degree in Architectural Technology or similar, preferred.
