As a member of the operations team, the suitable candidate will be flexible in their approach to job duties, as a specialist dangerous goods shipping company all members of staff are involved in the documenting and packing of dangerous goods. Typically we ship by air freight worldwide a wide range of materials, from nail polish and perfumery products through to paints and adhesives. If not already qualified or experience, we will provide the necessary dangerous goods training (both through in-house and external training programs) along with training in freight forwarding processes.
Reporting to the Operations Manager expectations for this position are:
Enter shipments in to our in-house freight forwarding system
Make bookings with carriers (road, sea and air)
Input shipments in to courier systems (FedEx, UPS, DHL)
Maintain shipping information on our in-house freight forwarding system
Complete Customs paperwork
Complete dangerous goods paperwork
Assist in the packing of dangerous goods shipments
Assist customers over the telephone / email with bookings, enquiries
General office duties relating to the above functions (filing, etc.)
Office hours : Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00 – 30 minute lunch break
Holidays : 20 days per annum plus all public holidays plus take your birthday off!
Salary : £24,500.00
Bonus scheme : Discretionary – paid twice per year (June & December)
