We are looking for an experienced HR Consultant to join the Advisory and Wellbeing Team on a full time and fixed term contract basis ( 6 months ). The Advisory and Wellbeing Team is passionate and ambitious team supporting the transformation of Southend and is an integral function within Southend City Council. The team is part of a wider large, experienced and supportive HR Service. They support organisational/transformational change, case management and support with day-to-day-operational matters providing solid operational advice and support across the council. As a HR consultant, you will provide specialist advice, guidance and support to stakeholders at all levels of the organisation on a wide range of employee relations matters to successful resolution. You will be responsible for leading on the management and progression of your individual case work with minimal supervision and escalation, by acting as a subject matter expert, and working collaboratively. This will require excellent organisational skills and attention to detail and applying HR processes and best practice as well as providing solutions and making recommendations. The council are pleased to offer this contract on a hybrid basis with a combination of working from home and the office (40% of your time). To be successful in this role, you will need to be will need to be an experienced HR professional with strong working knowledge of relevant employment law, policies, and procedures highlight legal risks, including managing complex employee relations cases, TUPE, Redundancy and Restructures, providing options and recommendations. Previous experience of working within a fast-paced HR team that strive to make a difference, will be essential. Knowledge of or previous experience of local government policies, procedures, and conditions of service would be beneficial. To be considered for this role, you should be working towards or have completed year 3 (electives) CIPD or equivalent in-depth knowledge and experience within an HR environment.
