About the role
As Sales Manager in Bekaert UK&I, you will be responsible for Dramix (steel fiber reinforcement) application in the prefabricated concrete industry. You are responsible for maximizing customer engagement and sales in your dedicated area.
You lead the entire process, from supervising and providing design to costs analysis, implementation, and closing the deal.
You build a strong insight into the market. Your targets are large and medium precast producers of structural and non-structural concrete elements. Your understanding of reinforced concrete design, norms and standards, construction methods, and building materials allows you to partner with your existing and new customers.
Through a deep understanding of your customers' business, you are able to identify opportunities for precasters while visiting their plants and, thanks to your strong project consultancy and advisory skills, you can create value for our customers and the entire chain. You develop and implement account plans to strengthen their business by utilizing new products, applications, services, and processes. You articulate solutions and demonstrate the realized value.
You identify and cultivate design partners and other key stakeholders for the development of Dramix steel fibers in the allocated concrete precast market.
As accountable for your region, you work with a high degree of autonomy, supported and coached by your area sales manager together with the Technical Team.
You manage the budget, provide monthly forecasting and reporting, and draw up profile reports for key customers. You follow up on receivables and facilitate credit control.
As a member of the UK team, you are willing to travel (approx. 50%) within Great Britain regularly. You will report to the Area Sales Manager.
Your profile
Experience in the concrete industry and 5+ years sales experience, preferably with precast manufacturers, connections or fastener companies serving precast manufacturers, or contractors.
You are a civil engineer/designer or a commercial manager who enjoys an autonomous entrepreneurial way of working — with the ambition to create long-term success in a complex environment.
Technical orientation and an interest and motivation to stay updated and push for change with technical materials related to manufacturing, building materials, design possibilities, and construction methods.
Solid commercial awareness, knowledge of norms and regulations, and a good understanding of business and market trends.
Strong value selling skills based on listening, inquiry, plant visits, and analysis.
Degree in Civil Engineering with knowledge of reinforced concrete design.
Fluency in English.
You have an open mindset, are eager to learn and develop, act with integrity, and are capable of building deep, long-term relationships with customers. You are result-oriented, possess good influencing skills, and have a passion for winning.
