St Luke's Surgery is an inner city Surgery looking fora highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the practice as areceptionist/admin person.
You will be required to deliver a friendly, efficient serviceand create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all patients, with the key aimof retaining and attracting new patients. We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who has good communication and organisational skills and works efficiently underpressure.
You will be required to work as part of a team or as an individual. A positive attitude is required as is being motivated, compassionate flexible and enthusiastic. Previous General Practiceexperience and audio typing is desirable, but all applicants are welcome. GoodIT / keyboard skills are essential. The post involves working each daycovering mornings, afternoon, and evenings on a rota over four or five days.
Main duties of the job
Duties include makingappointments, dealing with enquiries from patients & health professionals.Administration tasks to include typing, document scanning & data entry.

St Luke's Surgery is a well-established inner city practicewith a patient list size of approximately 5000.
Our second CQC inspection in 2019 rating was good.

21. Answering telephone calls and dealing with face to face enquiries.
22. Politely greeting patients and visitors to the centre.
23. Explaining the practice procedures to new patients.
24. Dealing with all requests in an efficient and courteous manner.
25. Opening post and forwarding it onto the relevant parties.
26. In charge of the doctors diary.
27. Writing letters and correspondence on behalf of the surgery and medical staff.
28. Scheduling appointments for patients.
29. Updating the surgeries computer system with appointments and personal details.
30. Maintaining a clean reception area to show a professional image.
31. Arranging for clinical nurses to check a patients blood pressure, height and weight.
32. Making sure that the appointments system runs smoothly.
33. Receiving urine and blood samples and sending them off to hospital laboratories.
34. Screening enquiries for the doctors and medical staff.
35. Registering new patients at the surgery.
36. Checking patients in and out.
37. Accurately collecting information and personal details about patients.
38. Arranging any necessary follow up appointments for patients with hospitals or with other healthcare professionals.
39. Ensuring that all medical samples are correctly labelled.
40. Filing away the results of tests.
41. Liaising with couriers and delivery companies.
42. Arranging prescriptions for patients.
43. Making sure that the medical consulting rooms and surgery is fully stocked with essential supplies.
