Key Responsibilities
Client-Focused Consultancy
* Deliver high-quality cost consultancy services to clients.
* Act as a trusted advisor, managing client relationships, and ensuring satisfaction across all stages of project delivery.
* Provide expert advice on procurement strategies, cost planning, and risk management tailored to client needs.
Project Leadership
* Lead the delivery of complex projects across multiple sectors, including commercial, residential and public sector.
* Take ownership of the cost management lifecycle, from feasibility studies through to final account closeout.
Team Management
* Manage and develop a team supporting their career development and RICS APC training.
* Promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and professional excellence.
* Monitor team performance to ensure the delivery of high-quality outputs within project timelines.
Strategic and Commercial Contribution
* Contribute to the growth of the business by identifying opportunities for new projects and clients.
* Support the preparation of bids, proposals, and fee estimates for new work.
* Maintain strong commercial awareness to ensure projects are delivered profitably and to client satisfaction.
Technical Expertise
* Oversee the preparation of cost estimates, tender documents, and financial reports.
* Provide guidance on contract selection and administration, including NEC, JCT, and bespoke contracts.
* Deliver value engineering, life-cycle costing, and benchmarking services to ensure best value for clients.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
* Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (RICS accredited).
Professional Membership:
* Full RICS membership
Experience:
* Significant post-qualification experience in a consultancy environment.
* Proven track record of delivering complex projects within a RICS-compliant framework.
* Strong knowledge of UK construction markets, procurement methods, and contract administration.
Leadership:
* Experience in managing teams and supporting APC candidates through their RICS pathway.
Business Development:
* Demonstrated success in developing client relationships and securing new business opportunities.
