Logistics Manager FTC/Interim Maternity Cover - 12 months Dudley The client is a leading provider of sustainable supply chain solutions for industry across the globe. They are looking to hire a Logistics Manager to provide maternity cover. The role is required to lead and coach the UK/IRE logistics team in working proactively towards maximizing our service-level, customer satisfaction and achieving departmental and personal objectives. The role is also responsible for continuous analysis and optimization of operational parameters & costs and providing know-how and support with the implementation of logistical improvement projects as well as ensuring the continuous delivery of the day to day tasks in the department and to support the operations department with reporting of both up and downstream KPIs. Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions): Manage Transport Team to ensure up to 1,800 orders are fulfilled each month Track service level and other daily reports Manage the Transport team to ensure up to 600 transfers per week back to Tosca sites Average of 150 transfers back to Tosca sites per week Track transport profit and costs Escalation point for Customer NCR's or queries Daily Support Transport Planner Escalation point for Hauliers and third party sites Monthly reporting Liaise with Site Manager on a daily basis Prioritise with Site Manager what stock is to be processed for orders Run weekly Operations call with PL Sites Weekly one to ones with line reports Liaise with Third Party Tosca sites Add haulage pricing to Pool It Track and manage transport costs vs budget Pursue projects and cost efficiencies Assist with product trials ensuring deliveries are on time and in budget Continue to add new hauliers to ensure cost efficiencies Visit hauliers when required Liaise with finance regarding transport invoice queries Add new manufactures and products to Pool It Raise orders on factory based on 20 weeks cover Leading and coaching Service Centre Managers and third party provider operations in the assigned region by providing support, facilitating effective performance management, cultivating a positive culture and working environment, and driving business initiatives. Representing assigned region internally for Supply Chain & Operations. Translating Supply Chain & Operations and other functional business strategies into operational goals with visible metrics Accountability for delivering operational requirements. Setting annual budgets, monitoring and controlling all expenses and operational costs. Cultivating and installing a culture of Team Member Service Centre Safety. Drive and implement all pertinent internal safety standards and processes, develop safety inspections and audits, and promote safety goals and awareness with Team Maintaining a safe working environment at all locations. Recognize our customer and our commitment to safety, pride and quality work. Assist in maintaining a safe and injury free work environment for Team Members and anyone visiting and/or working at our facilities. Demonstrating an understanding of Food Safety and support the Food Safety Management System and the food safety hazards in all assigned Service Centres. Ensuring appropriate Food Safety ISO practices and processes are maintained and customer sanitation expectations are achieved.
