The Head of Supply Chain is a member of the Senior Leadership team and responsible for Supply Chain within both Bioworld International (which may include some liaison with the US JV partner) and NJ Screen Prints, working closely with Operations management internally as well as the rest of the SLT.
The role requires a real-time understanding of changing requirements and market conditions, encompassing several routes to market - including B2B, B2C, Amazon FBA, Amazon FBM, Web sales, FOB Sales ex UK and overseas factories (Bangladesh, China, India etc) - as well as internal fast response garment decoration/pack/despatch to high street retailers and other customers.
This is a key role in driving inventory optimisation, ensuring that sales orders are fulfilled with good OTIF performance, whilst minimising/optimising stock holding costs.
The Head of Supply Chain is responsible for managing the end-to-end Supply Chain activities for the group. This includes sales order intake, purchase order placement and progression, goods receipt, despatch, logistics and inventory management, as well as sourcing and supplier management.

Main Responsibilities:
* Manage procurement and relationships with suppliers - negotiating prices, contracts/terms and reviewing performance (including OTIF, quality reviews and factory audits). Ensure compliance of suppliers with all relevant legal and ethical standards, including anti-bribery and modern-day slavery legislation.
* Introduce and manage vendor score cards for all suppliers, with corrective actions where required.
* Monitor, report and control inventory, ensuring levels are at correct levels and stock holding costs are taken into account. Report any excess and obsolete inventory arising and recommend actions to address for benefit of the business.
* Manage blank t shirt ordering and forecasting, prepare spend, past dues and inventory reports, maintain accurate ‘stock availability’ information.
* Highlight opportunities to clear stock that is nearing its license expiration date so that it can be sold before it becomes obsolete.
* Monitor inventory cycle counts to ensure that the stock file is accurate, highlighting any problem locations and ensuring that these are followed up and actioned accordingly.
* Monitor freight costs and negotiate prices; update landed cost prices where appropriate.
* Ensure that all aspects of import logistics administration are compliant, including Incoterms, VAT and Duty; maintain duty rates for the business, ensuring these are up to date for any changes and new products.
* Manage the Supply Chain, Merchandising and Sourcing & Production teams, ensuring team is fit for purpose and delivers against business objectives.
* Ensure smooth end-to-end administration of buying processes, including raising POs, tracking of POs to sales orders, arrangement of LCs (where applicable) and management of import paperwork and activities.
* Master Data Management - ensure that all relevant data within the ERP system is monitored and controlled, is accurate and reliable for business needs. This includes stock codes, duty rates, lead times, suppliers and customers.
* Develop and report relevant key performance metrics (KPIs) to measure, monitor, and analyse Supply Chain performance for the business. This includes stock availability, aged stock, inventory levels by license/product type/supplier, OTIF, past dues, etc.
* Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including packaging, EU legislation and environmental· Manage and monitor relevant budgets to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
* Continuous improvement – recommend and implement areas for improvement
Competences
Qualifications and experience
Essential:
* Degree qualified or equivalent in a business-related subject
* Minimum 5 years’ previous experience in a Supply Chain role at Senior level
* Minimum 2 years’ management experience, including team leadership & development, and KPI reporting
* Proven track record of successfully managing inventory
* Experience of managing an international supply base, including sourcing and supplier management
* Proven track record of managing suppliers in relation to cost, delivery and quality performance
* Customer service experience
* Experience of importing goods and associated administration
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to drive and influence in the business
* Good analytical skills, including high level Excel (Intermediate/Advanced)
* Full driving licence

• CIPS qualified or working towards (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply)
