The Learning Academy Partnership has an exciting opportunity for a Kitchen Lead to join our School Trust, based at Lifton Community Academy. We are looking for someone who is passionate about ensuring every child has the opportunity to enjoy a healthy school meal.
As a Catering Team, our aim is to make a positive difference to the health and wellbeing of all children; our nutritious school meals ensure children have the energy and concentration to enable them to get the most out of their learning and activities. Our children are at the core of everything we do; by working together we foster an interest in the food they are eating and encourage good meal choices.
Our School Trust is underpinned by our four core beliefs; we are stronger together, a sense of belonging; removing barriers and realising the possible. This means that by working collectively, we can achieve our absolute best to ensure that children, especially the most vulnerable, can flourish.
We are looking for someone who:
• Has a genuine interest in food and nutrition and their importance within the school setting
• Will assist in the preparation and cooking of nutritionally balanced meals
• Has high standards of hygiene and cleanliness, observing Health and Safety and Food Hygiene Regulations
• Can lead, support and manage a team of Catering Assistants to be the very best they can be
• Will work closely with the Trust Catering Lead, Headteachers and suppliers to continuously develop the catering service
• Will support and promote healthy food and drink choices within our schools
We can offer you:
• The opportunity to make a profound difference to children’s lives
• An impactful People Strategy that enables us to nurture, develop and support our colleagues so that they can provide the very best for our children
• A culture that takes work-life balance extremely seriously for all its colleagues
• The chance to work as part of a collective in a values-led school Trust, a single organisation.
• High quality professional development and regular training to develop your knowledge and skills
• A strong, proactive wellbeing network across the school Trust
• The potential for future career development
• Access to a 24-hour Employee Assistance Programme
• Trust benefit schemes including Cycle and Tech schemes
• Generous Local Government Pension Scheme
All our schools are each at the centre of their local communities and celebrate their individuality and distinctiveness. A core feature in how we work as a School Trust is our collective approach in delivering an exceptional education for all children. We do this through working very closely together in mutual support and challenge to empower excellence for our children, families, and the communities that we serve.
In short, our ethos is one of working together to Empower, Excel, Together.
The Learning Academy Partnership is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
