Sector Leader for Local, Devolved and Central Government– Role Overview
This is an excellent opportunity to lead on complex valuation exercises and projects for key Central Government and Local and Devolved Government clients. You will work closely with the Sector Head for each of these two sectors.
District Valuer Services (DVS) provide professional property advice across the public sector, including private and third sector clients involved in delivering public services and functions of a public nature. Our clients include the Central, Regional, Local and Devolved Government, Health, Transport & Infrastructure, and the Environment.
We are looking for a Sector Leader to provide leadership to a regional team of specialists and caseworkers. The role will include undertaking complex casework, project management and assurance functions for DVS. The successful candidate will also support sectors such as Central Government and Local Devolved Government.
Sector Leader for Local, Devolved and Central Government– Key responsibilities
* Maintain and apply an advanced level of valuation surveying knowledge to casework activity and review high profile or complex valuations and project management.
* Provide technical leadership, guidance, and support to caseworkers within DVS, primarily on a regional and as required, on a national basis.
* Provide valuation advice to Local Authorities nationally, including valuations for financial reporting purposes, acquisition (purchase and lease), disposal, rent reviews and planning viability.
* Supporting the Senior Management Team and working closely with Team Leaders in the transferring of skills across the sector to build capability and the delivery of agreed quality and timeliness targets.
* Identify risks and issues and make recommendations on action to be taken.
* Maintaining an awareness of the wider political, economic, social, technical, environmental, and legislative agendas that impact DVS, Central and Local Government clients.
* Pro-actively market our professional services to existing and potential clients whilst developing and maintaining client relationships ensuring customer satisfaction.
* Understanding and challenging the needs of the client, identifying, and developing new products and services required.
* Acting as an expert witness and appearance before arbitrators or submission of evidence to independent experts and Lands Tribunals where required.
